November 2017
The “salt mountain” is approximately 20 kms West of our camp – our new adventure road to “salt mountain” is still a bit bumpy but the game is lovely. On the last 2 trips we have seen +- 25 Roan, 60 Buffalo, +-20 Hartebeeste, 2 pairs Crowned Cranes, 2 Wattled cranes, Oribi and Wildebeeste, Warthogs, and a real treat- a Pangolin!!

Over 20 hippos often swim past Mushingashi hut at night into the main Kafue river, where they bask by day. This is a good introduction to hippos…..the Mmshingashi stream is abour 20 metres from the hut. – By the Hirsch party, November 2017
